I have no idea where this thing came from, but there was apparently a “rental limited release” CD released on August 19, 2015, titled “Oku Hanako 10th Anniversary Rental Best ~NON STOP CD~” / 奥華子10th Anniversary レンタルベスト 〜NON STOP CD〜. I’m not sure how this is specifically a “rental best”, nor why they would call it “non-stop”.
According to the blurb on Pony Canyon’s post, it’s meant to be the most representative of Oku Hanako, taking songs from all over her discography, most notably Garnet / ガーネット and Kawaranai Mono / 変わらないもの, the two songs that made her famous.
The tracklist isn’t numbered in the post, but it is complete (14 songs):
- Yasashii Hana / やさしい花
- Kaette Oide / 帰っておいで
- Garnet / ガーネット
- Kawaranai Mono 変わらないもの
- Koi (2012 Arrange version) / 恋(2012 Arrange version)
- Anata ni Suki to Iwaretai / あなたに好きと言われたい
- Waratte Waratte / 笑って笑って
- Saigo no Koi / 最後の恋
- Hastukoi / 初恋
- Trump / トランプ
- Cinderella / シンデレラ
- Ai wo Mitsuketa Basho / 愛を見つけた場所
- Taisetsu na Mono / 大切なもの
- Kusabi / 楔 -くさび-
I didn’t think them above because they’re the wrong versions, but I have previously posted the hikigatari versions of Yasashii Hana and Koi.
I will assume that these are the arranged versions where possible, which would leave 2 hikigatari tracks out of 14: “Kaette Oide” and “Saigo no Koi”.
I like this selection, and if this is the order that they’re going with, then I have no complaints. Is it the most representative? I guess it could be better, but I’m sure there’s more than one set that could be considered representative.
If you were tasked with compiling a list of songs that are most representative of Oku Hanako, what would they be? Leave your answer in the comments!
This CD is only rentable in JAPAN’s CD store called TSUTAYA.
Thanks for the info! There’s a listing for it on Amazon, so I’m not sure if it’s exclusive to TSUTAYA.
