Madobe / 窓辺: “by the window”, possibly “windowsill” in the context of the song. Composed of mado / 窓 (“window”) and be / 辺 (“place”)
This post is yet another horrible reference to a current event. Last week on August 24 was the 20th anniversary of the release of Windows 95. Incidentally, the meaning of “madobe” is why the official Windows OS-tans have it as their family name.
Madobe is track 6 from Oku Hanako’s first album, Yasashii Hana no Saku Basho / やさしい花の咲く場所, released in 2006. Like the rest of the album, easy and relaxing to listen to. Unfortunately, I haven’t a clue what the lyrics are about.

Shizukana asa yurameku kage te wo nobashite furete ita no
Shiroku kemuru heya no sumi de anata ga tada itoshikatta
Yuka ni nugisuteta mama no anata no fuku

Hajimaru futari no kokoro ga mienakute mo heikida to itte
Ai no nai mono wa iranai yasashii me ga kurushikatta
Mujakina futari ni wa mou narenaikedo
Anata no subete wo yuruserukara

Nice to see an English site for Hanachan! I’m guessing I can provide some English translations when I’m free. I tried translating her old songs into Chinese a few years ago (being her fan for more than 4 years lol).
Ooh, yes, translations would be much appreciated if you have the time. If you want to prioritize a little bit, I have a list of posts needing translations.
I’m not sure about the other regulars here, but it seems you’ve been a fan longer than I have. I first encountered Oku Hanako through Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo in August 2012.
I hope you continue to enjoy the content here!
I haven’t listened to such a great song like this for a long time……
Re: Ratings
From now on, 4 stars for a good post. 5 stars if you include English lyrics.
I see that you have to visit YouTube to see the video.
Not a problem, because the suggested video list contains recently posted videos which the Record Industry Weasels had removed … so great I thought they were lost forever … must try to copy … er … I mean … WATCH … these promo videos tonight.
